Girlfriend Power

Don’t underestimate the power of girlfriends. The support, laughter, bonding and just outrageous fun that can be had, is phenomenal. Girlfriends share your thoughts, feelings and often experiences, and help to make sense of that other often confusing species – Man. We can be goofy, laugh, cry and solve all the world’s problems in one crazy night! We can talk shop, share our innermost dreams, try on ridiculous fashions, share beauty and cooking tips, kick each others’ butts at video games, try not to laugh too hard at the dating displays of the male species, and dance up a storm all in one day!

There is just something uplifting and powerful with time spent with your girlfriends. Being a very sociable introvert, I have to remind myself to never underestimate the healing power of a girlfriend night out!

What did you do this weekend?

That is so true! Nothing better than sitting and chatting with someone who is going through the same things you are life. Sometime talking to the hubby just doesn't cut it. They don't understand everything a woman goes through. So having a girlfriend to confide in is important, like you said.

This last weekend we did a lot of packing for our movce in Sept! :)

You got that right! There's nothing like a close girlfriend.

I love spending time with my girls, but unfortunately it doesn't happen nearly often enough!

This weekend my bf and I stayed in a lot, but went out to see Inception. So good!

I spent the weekend in a writing class with some of the most wonderful women ever. And I didn't know any of them before!

I agree, girlfriends are so important. I always start humming Luscious Jackson's Friends "got my freaks to the east, got my freaks to the west. Let's get together and celebrate. I just can't say no to my friends."

I love that you posted this. I am a hermit...an exceptional introvert. I have never had girlfriends.. my entire life I haven't. And I know there are things that I have missed out on because of this.

I think that this blogging experience has helped me a great deal... I am getting to slowly know some fabulous women via the internet. And it has been a heart-warming thing for me... Thank you!

So agree with you. A night out with girlfriends can be very uplifting. I need to make a habit to reach out though. I'm an introvert as well. Blogging gets me to connect with others.

What did I do this weekend? Attending two parties: one was not very exciting for me, the other was very fun.
I don't get out much these days, but I so remember those wonderful getaways with girlfriends...*sigh*

Nothing compares to friends. My week-end was full of everything and nothing. Glad you had a lot of fun.
I couldn't make it without my girlfriends! My husband works a lot + we trade off watching each other's kids.

I had an amazing outing with a girlfriend last weekend! We left our husbands and kids at home and traveled together to see some of my family... the Pacific Ocean, and we played at a resort. IT WAS A BLAST! You are so right - girlfriends are so AWESOME! :D

I've been checking out your posts and on each one I've thought - "Hey! Sounds like me!!" Especially on the girlfriends one...I'm on the quiet side and have no female siblings but I've been fortunate enough to have an inner circle of friends I consider "sisters". They've made all the difference!!!
