Furry Friends

I can't imagine my life without my furry friends, of the animal variety. They just have a way of putting life in a different perspective, and connecting with you like no other.

The furry nuzzles, the wet kisses, the melding of the minds. Because that's what happens when you have a pet. Not only do you let them into your heart, but into your mind as well. They create a happy little place in there, that cannot be encroached. They burrow themselves into your life, and provide you with that unconditional love, that you seldom value until its gone.

The Peanut has a definite love of all things furry, and some things not so furry - like snakes. And as long as she appreciates my spider agreement - I am cool with that!!

Can you remember your first pet?

I love my furry friends, too! My first pet was a fighting fish. Weird, I know.

Yes in deed, furry friends have a special place and I feel sad for those who have not experienced this :)

I have lost my two fur babies this year that I had since about 1998 - Simon and Zoe. This blog was hard for me to read...but it also made me giggle....I just lost Zoe about a week ago....I am still grieving.
I love the picture of peanut with the horse. My husband just introduced me to horses two years ago at an apple orchard. I love how their lips feel. I am all about animals. I love them so much. I have two more fur babies living with me - Bosley and Molly. We have a tendency to rescue animals. These are the pets I have had in order since birth....I think I had a fish when I was a baby.....Then came Crackers (Weiner dog) and he was rescued by my mother from some mean boys who had tied him up with cans and were throwing rocks at him. We adopted him and he was my cacky....Then we had Zipper...another weiner dog...I don't think he was a rescue....We just found him in the paper....Then we had pepper - My sister brought home a kitty from a farm field trip. Then I found Patches the cat under the deck at my parents. She had a litter of 4 kittens....and then I had to give away to good homes those kittens who I loved so much....but my mom kept Patches. ANd along came my next rescue - Snoopy - the beagle. Naughty but cutie....Then Simon and Zoe...now Bosley and Molly.....

My first pet was a puppy dog. She was 2 years older than me and was protective of me as a baby. My first pet that was just mine was a guinea pig in grad school.

My pets are my kids (as I'm sure you've noticed). When I don't have pets around me I am completely lost.

Our animals have always been part of our family, their little and sometimes BIG personalities seem to round us out, LOL!!!

I am sorry for your losses, Carolyn. Losing a family member (as I believe they are part of the family) is never easy. Wow, two this year, that's tough. Horses' lips are funny, and they use them like fingers sometimes :) I always am intrigued how alot of pets find their owners, instead of the other way around....so very true in most of my pets' cases :)

Yes, I actually do know a few very furry people, LOL!!

I have never had fighting fish - I think they are cool. I think my first pet was a fish I won at the local fair. You know the game where you have to throw a ping pong ball into the circling fish bowls...
