Top 7 Things I Learned Last Month

I thought I would share with you the top 7 things I learned last month, seeing as it is the first of September today (again with the time passing).... so here they are, in no particular order :

1. If you are going to allow your 4 year old to paint your nails - make sure you have nail polish remover on hand. (note to self - picking off glitter blue and bright pink nail polish while driving to an interview, can be hazardous)

2. There are expiry dates on food items for a reason.

3. Telling your child that marshmallows grow on farms - may turn out to bite you in the butt later on...

4. This one I seem to never learn. When making a recipe, check to ensure you have ALL the ingredients BEFORE making said recipe. Baking powder and baking soda, are NOT interchangeable when baking.

5. When making pizza dough from scratch, ensure your floors are clean. Despite the YouTube videos that demonstrate and say pizza dough throwing is easy. IT IS VERY MUCH NOT.

6. You actually can get a smile headache from smiling too much.

7. Worms do not keep in your fridge indefinitely....

So perhaps I can help educate you with my lessons learnt.... What did you learn last month?

I laughed lots reading this. So I am now wracking my brain as to 7 things I have learned, not necessarily last month.
1. When you ask your other half if they would like a cup of coffee or something to eat whilst you are making yourself something to eat or drink, always make something for them anyway because without fail they end up wanting it anyway. This also goes the same for kids.
2. If you have a child who has Aspger and takes things literally be careful what they watch. Watching Spiderman may make them want to get bitten by a spider, no matter how many times you explain that this is not a good idea.
3. If whilst you are out shopping and some kind salesperson is giving away balloons or other promotional material either make sure you get 5 of the same thing or don't except it cause without fail they will always want the same thing as each other.
4. If you happened to like a certain song that is catchy don't let your kids know cause they will end up sing it constantly and you will quickly come to hate it.
5. Be careful of what jokes you decided to tell whilst your 6 year old is around because sure enough they will go to school and tell them to the teacher - "Leprosy - Bits and pieces falling off me" to the tune of the Beetles "Yesterday".
6. Also always remember that they are around when you are talking about other family relatives, because they will tend to then tell those family members without failure what you have said and WW3 erupts.
7. As much as it seems like a great idea to stay up late at night to get some stuff done whilst they are in bed and you have piece and quiet, remember they are going to get up early the next morning and want breakfast and will not leave you alone till you have gotten it for them.

Seems the most major thing I learnt last month was to pack my stuff for colg at night. Throwing stuff into my bag in the morning was a VERY bad idea, I had to make a drive back to home twice last month just because I forgot to keep my ID card !

I learned that #3 thing the hard way too. :)

This last month I learned prayers are essential and answered.

Hahaha, they are great, I know number 4 very well, and, just saying, it's not mandatory to throw pizza dough ;)

That is absolutely hilarious. I'm writing a similar little ditty titled, "5 reasons why I’m not the mama," but I can't seem to bring it to an end. Your "7 things" has certainly inspired me. But seriously, about the marshmallows, everyone knows they grow on trees.

7 Things I learned last month:
1.) Do NOT let a 4 year old pick out what type of cake to make for daddy or you end up making a Death Star Cake.
2.) Fondant in August in Georgia melts quickly (I haven't learned this yet - lol!) Make sure your cake is small enough to fit on a fridge shelf or it will melt.
3.) Make sure bathroom door is closed and the diaper bucket is closed before letting your 11 month old down from dinner. Equals huge mess in bathroom.
4.) Sewing clear vinyl is a pain in the butt. Next year we are buying a backpack not making one.
5.) An 85.7 MB file does crash your computer. Shut down everything before opening the file.
6.) Paper is much tastier than any food I prepare (ask my 11 month old - I lost 4 birthday cards to him)
7.) Don't mention Mod Podge to a 4 year old because she then gets the glitter because glitter makes everything (including my kitchen) beautiful and sparkly.

This was fun :)
Love this post. It left me smiling!!

Last month I learned that while you may be ready for the kids to return to school you will nonetheless miss them when they do.

So if there is a marshamallow farm - does that mean I can use the excuse that they are "out of season" when my kids ask me to buy more??

Hmmm, let's see....#1 Stress is a wonderful weight loss tool. #2 When given the opportunity I pack a pair of shoes for every day I am going to be away from my children with handbags to match. #3 Far away best friends are still best friends even after months of no contact. #4 I hate school uniforms #5 It pays to advertise #6 A two year old will always spill his cup when he realizes there is no lid. #7 The food back home is as good as i remember it. :)
